While I have lots of thoughts on my mind, I think I'll just update a few things instead of pondering (or shall I say 'wandering' off with them).
Cornbread update:
Well, I kind of stopped the experiment, as we ate a good amount and were getting tired of it. Now we've taken enough of a break, I'll keep on experimenting. What I did learn so far was this: Adding calories increases flavor and moisture (the 2 things I wanted). I should have known that, but now my tests have confirmed that. When I added buttermilk, sour cream, extra butter; then I got the results I wanted. More moisture and more flavor. So, there it is in a nutshell. Likely that is what makes the mixes so good too, although I can't really do a calorie/fat comparison (well, I could but am too lazy)
Sleep update:
No better. Trying to get little girl to sleep in the boys room, in hopes that would reduce nighttime wakings. But alas, not happening. Just spend more steps walking back and forth between the rooms, and staying awake longer to nurse her and get her back to sleep. The word that keeps coming to my head is: cajole which means "to persuade by flattery or promises; wheedle; coax." That sums up our sleep methods. I do a lot of cajoling, and she remains set in her ways, such as they are. Reading the "No Cry Sleep Solution" again, trying to refresh if there is anything new I can try. So, we'll see. Not getting my hopes up though.
That's all for today...have a play date for the kids, as well as some errands to run.
