I have a dear great aunt, who makes "lid dolls" for every baby she knows about. In the picture, J is holding one of them. She has at least 100 nieces and nephews, most of which also have children (200-300+ maybe), and every new baby gets a lid doll. The kids love to play with him in the bath, and the other day I was informed that "Lid Man" (as he's known in this house) is good friends with Spiderman, Batman and Superman. I do wonder what kind of adventures they go on; Lid Man in his cumbersome gear trying to keep up with his sleek, sneaky friends saving the world. Maybe someday at bath time I'll delve into that and see what stories the kids come up with.
